I’m pleased to announce that St. Luke’s Cataract & Laser Institute is participating in Operation Sight, which is a charitable effort managed by the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ASCRS). The program matches eligible cataract patients with volunteer surgeons who are members of the Operation Sight Network. The mission is to eliminate treatable cataract blindness in the United States. By leveraging the combined strength of established charitable organizations and ASCRS-member volunteer surgeons, Operation Sight is providing needed care to those unable to access or afford surgery.
Dr. Jeff Wipfli, Dr. Brandon Rodriguez and I will be joining over 170 volunteer surgeons, along with their clinical and surgical teams across the country to provide no-cost cataract surgery to patients who are in need, and at-risk of cataract blindness.
Operation Sight is a perfect match for St. Luke’s because, on a daily basis, we strive to serve others using our gifts and talents to help improve quality of life.
